The best drone for 2025
Drones have become an important tool in a creator's bag of tricks, allowing them to capture aerial footage that elevates their videos. And nowadays, they've become more accessible as video quality and features have dramatically improved while prices have dropped. Recent budget-friendly models include DJI's Neo and Flip drones, along with the HoverAir X1 Pro lineup, all under 500. If you've got more to spend, the options are similarly plentiful with drones like the DJI Mini 4 Pro and HoverAir X1 Pro Max. And for the price of a good mirrorless camera, you can get DJI's Mavic 3 Pro that offers awesome image quality, range and other features.
DJI Flip review: A unique and useful creator drone with a few flaws
After creating a stir with the 200 Neo, DJI is back at it with another innovative drone, the Flip. It has a first-of-a-kind folding design and shrouded propellers to keep people safe. It also integrates 3D infrared obstacle detection to track subjects and has a long list of impressive features. With a camera borrowed from the Mini 4 Pro, the Flip can take high-quality 4K 60p video indoors or out with little risk. It comes with vlogger-friendly features like Direction Track and Quickshots for social media.
DJI's Flip combines the best of its lightweight drones for 439
DJI continues its streak of innovative (and highly leaked) drones with the launch of the Flip, a lightweight and people-safe model that folds in a new direction -- downward -- to accommodate the large, shrouded propellers. The new model should appeal to beginners and experienced users alike with features like a large sensor, 4K 100p video, safety features, a three-axis gimbal and an affordable price. The company says the Flip "combine[s] the simplicity of the DJI Neo with the stunning photo capabilities of the DJI Mini," but in many ways, it's better than both. It borrows a LiDAR system from the Air 3S for obstacle detection and the Flip's propellers are protected on all sides, making it all but impossible to hurt someone with them. DJI says the support structure for the guards is made of carbon fiber string that's 1/60th the weight of polycarbonate material and just as strong.

DJI Air 3S review: LiDAR and improved image quality make for a nearly faultless drone
DJI just announced the dual-camera Air 3S drone and there's some all-new cutting-edge tech hiding in the nose. A LiDAR sensor is there to provide extra crash protection at night, a time that's often dangerous for drones. The Air 3S also has a new main camera with a larger sensor better suited for capturing video in low-light. And it now comes with the company's ActiveTrack 360, which it first introduced in the Mini 4 Pro, allowing the device to zoom all around your subject while tracking and filming them. There are a bunch of other little improvements, from storage to the new panoramic photo mode, all at the same 1,099 price as the Air 3 was at launch.

DJI Neo review: The best 200 drone ever made
When DJI revealed its tiny 200 Neo drone, I immediately saw how it could fit into my vlogger's toolkit to supplement my Mini 4 Pro and Mavic 3 Pro. Flying those sophisticated drones is a whole thing that requires planning. But the Neo can be launched spontaneously to grab quick and fun shots, thanks to features like palm takeoff and voice control. That ease of use also makes it ideal for the social media influencers. You get features from DJI's bigger drones like ActiveTrack, FPV capabilities and even support for DJI's Mic 2. And forget about the fuzzy video you may have seen on other cheap drones. The Neo can record in sharp 4K, making it suitable for content creators who need affordable aerial video.

DJI Neo hands-on: A powerful and lightweight 200 drone
DJI has just unveiled the Neo, its much-leaked 200 drone aimed at content creators and casual users. It's tiny and easy to use thanks to novice-friendly features like propeller guards, palm takeoff and voice control. However, the Neo is no toy (or Snap Pixy). It has a suite of powerful features like ActiveTrack, Quick Shots, FPV controller support, smartphone control and the ability to record yourself with the DJI Mic 2. Video specs look promising as well, but not everything is perfect -- it lacks obstacle detection and uses small propellers that are likely to be noisy. I wasn't able to give it a full look as some features were missing, but I was still astonished by what DJI got a small, cheap drone to do. The Neo is DJI's lightest drone by a long way at 135 grams and is nearly small enough to fit into a pocket.

DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone Review: The Best Small Drone Available
With the launch of the Mini 4 Pro, DJI has nailed the recipe for producing premium-level ultralight drones. It comes just 18 months after the superb Mini 3 Pro, but with significant tweaks to the image processing and obstacle avoidance tech, it's undeniably the one to beat. At under 250 grams in weight, it's free from many of the rules and regulations that apply to larger models. In the USA there's no need to register it with the FAA for recreational use, while in the UK (a notoriously difficult place to fly drones), it can be flown pretty freely in public areas. Here in the UK, finding a sub-250 gram drone is critical for most amateur pilots.

DJI Mini 4 Pro review: The best lightweight drone gains more power and smarts
Last year, DJI showed what was possible in a small drone with the Mini 3 Pro by fitting tons of technology and a high-quality camera into a sub-250 gram drone. Following that up was never going to be easy, but now (after numerous leaks) it's unveiled the Mini 4 Pro with a long list of new features. Aside from one improvement, the camera is largely the same. However, it has new omnidirectional obstacle sensors that eliminate the blind spots on the Mini 3 Pro. It also comes with a new feature called ActiveTrack 360 that lets you program camera moves when tracking a subject.
